Beating Degree In Paper Pulping Process

The beating degree is an index reflecting the degree of difficulty of water filtration of pulp. In general, the greater the beating degree, the slower the water filtration. Canadian Standard Freeness (CSF), another expression of the water filtration performance of pulp, contrary to beating degree, the greater the freeness, the faster the water filtration.

Factors Affecting Slurry Dehydration

1. The fine fibrosis of the fiber will affect the dehydration of the pulp, which is beneficial to improving the strength of the paper sheet. The cutting of the fiber will also affect the dehydration of the pulp, but it will reduce the strength of the paper sheet.

2. Fiber cutting or fine fiberization can improve the beating degree. However, the properties and strength of the pulp are completely different, and the determination of the degree of beating cannot distinguish them.

Therefore, although the beating degree can comprehensively represent the beating action and effect of the fiber being cut, split, swelled, and hydrated, the beating degree cannot simply represent the nature of the pulp, but it must be tested together in other ways to determine The real situation of beating on fiber.
