Chain Conveyor Working Principle And Structure

A chain conveyor is a conveying device that uses standard chain plates as the carrying surface, is driven by a geared motor, and provides traction power through the reciprocating motion of the chain, using metal plates as the carrier to guide the directional transport of materials.

Its core structure mainly includes a power unit (geared motor), drive shaft, drive and driven wheels, chain, chain plates, tensioning device, frame, and guide rails. During operation, the geared motor drives the drive wheel to rotate, and the chain meshing around the drive and driven wheels drives the conveying surface composed of chain plates to circulate, thus achieving stable material transport.

Compared to ordinary belt conveyors, chain conveyors use chain drive, which eliminates slippage, provides higher transmission stability, and ensures uniform and continuous material feeding.
