Drum Screen in Wastepaper Pulping

On waste paper pulping production lines, the drum screen is one of the core pieces of equipment responsible for “sorting” – it feeds pulp containing various impurities into a rotating drum and uses centrifugal force and screen openings to separate qualified fibers from impurities such as plastic flakes, sand, and metal blocks.
Drum Screen Specification
In waste paper pulping processes, drum screen typically play the role of coarse screening, with a typical process location as follows:
Pulper → High density cleaner → Mid-consistency coarse screen → Light impurity separator → Drum screen
In this process, the pulp after pulping and high density cleaner sequentially enters the mis-consistency coarse screen and the light impurity separator, while the tailings (slurry containing light impurities) finally enters the drum screen. The drum screen’s function is to thoroughly separate light impurities from the pulp; accept pulp is returned to the system for further processing, while the sludge is discharged. The advantages of this combination scheme are:
Improved operating efficiency: Clear division of labor among equipment ensures stable continuous operation;
Reduced fiber loss: The slotted screen structure effectively traps fibers;
Reduced pollution load: Impurities are discharged in stages, reducing the pressure on subsequent wastewater treatment.
With the continuous improvement of waste paper recycling rates and the development of pulping production lines towards high efficiency and low consumption, the technology of drum screen is also constantly evolving. Welcome email us for more details. Email: leizhanpulper@gmail.com
