The paper rolls coming out of the paper machine are relatively soft and may be damaged or broken, have ragged edges and are of the wrong width. They cannot be applied directly for paper recycling. Most paper rolls must be slit and then rewound into finished paper of the required width and weight. This requires the use of rewinding machine.
