Structure And Operation Process Of Calender

After the surface of printed matter is coated, the glazing layer is dried. If the smoothness and gloss of glazing coating are need to be improved again, then it can be calendered by the calender. Generally, the gloss of glazing is about 65-85%, and after calendering, it can reach a gloss of 90-95% or more.

Calender Machine Structure

The calender is mainly composed of printed matter conveying mechanism, mechanical transmission, electrical control system, and so on, and includes printed matter conveying table, manual high-pressure oil pump, hot-pressing roller, pressure roller, speed-regulating driving motor, calendering steel belt, cooling box, observation door, cooling water tank, ventilation circulation system, transfer roller, and print collection table, etc.

Operating Process

The calender works in a continuous rolling mode. The printed matter is conveyed from the paper feeding table to calender belt between hot pressing roller and pressure roller, and the coating is attached to the surface of calendering belt to be calendered under the action of temperature and pressure. The calendered glaze layer is gradually cooled to form a shiny surface layer. The calender belt is a stainless steel annular steel belt which has been specially treated. The hot press rolls are internally equipped with sets of far infrared heating sources to provide heat required for calendering. The pressure of pressure roller is mostly electro-hydraulic pressure regulation system, which can accurately meet the pressure requirement in calendering. The calendering speed can be controlled by speed-regulating drive motor or slip motor.
