High Density Cleaner In Pulping Line

The high density cleaner is an essential purification machine in a pulp production line. Typically installed after the hydrapulper and before the coarse screen, it serves the primary function of removing heavy impurities from the pulp. Its performance directly impacts the safe operation of downstream equipment and the quality of the final paper product.

Why is”high density cleaner”necessary?

Traditional low density cleaner requires diluting the pulp to approximately 1% before removing impurities, followed by a re-thickening stage—a process that entails high water and energy consumption. In contrast, high density cleaner can operate directly at consistencies ranging from 2% to 5%. By eliminating the need for dilution and subsequent re-thickening, these units can handle large volumes of pulp with a smaller equipment footprint. They capture heavy contaminants—such as sand, stones, and iron nails—immediately after the pulping stage, thereby protecting the screen plates and refining discs of downstream equipment like pressure screens and refiners. As such, they serve as an economical and critical first line of defense in the pulping process.

For any pulping line that adopt waste paper or pulp containing impurities as raw materials, a properly configured high density cleaner is essential.
