Arc Screen For Pulp And Paper Making

In the pulping process, the application of arc screens primarily focuses on two areas: pulp thickening and fiber recovery. In the pulp thickening stage, low-consistency pulp—originating from beating, washing, or screening operations—is processed through arc screen, increasing its consistency to 3%–6% and preparing it for subsequent high-consistency processing stages. In the treatment of papermaking white water or wastewater, curved screens are frequently used to recover lost fibers; they offer a processing capacity of several hundred cubic meters per hour, all while requiring virtually no additional power consumption.

Arc Screen Features

I. No external power required; low cost. The screen surface is stationary with no moving parts; separation relies on the pressure of the incoming feed and gravity. Power consumption is virtually zero, and there are no mechanical failures related to vibration or lubrication. Maintenance is limited to inspecting the screen surface and occasional rinsing.

II. Self-cleaning and anti-clogging. The wedge-shaped screen bars are oriented perpendicular to the flow direction, with their sharp edges acting to thin out the liquid layer. The classified particle size is approximately half the width of the screen gaps, and particles near the gaps are swept away, preventing clogging and ensuring a long operational cycle.

III. High capacity; compact footprint. As a thin, high-velocity film of liquid flows over the curved screen surface, the unit capacity is exceptionally high—capable of processing hundreds of cubic meters per hour. Its compact design allows for easy integration into existing layouts.

IV. Simple structure; easy to assemble and disassemble. Comprising only the screen box, screen surface, nozzles, and frame, the unit is lightweight. It can be installed in an elevated position or integrated directly into a pipeline, and the screen surface can be quickly removed, reinstalled, or flipped.

With its exceptionally low operating costs and reliable capability for classifying fine particles, the arc screen has become an essential piece of equipment for slurry thickening and fiber recovery. Welcome email us at any time.
