Paper Machine Guiding Roll Supplier

Guiding rolls are rotating cylindrical components applied in the wet end and dryer section of a paper machine to guide and drive forming wire and felts, and dryer wires, ensuring they remain in their proper operating positions. While they do not participate directly in the sheet-forming or pressing processes, they serve to realign wire and felts that have drifted off-course and help maintain tension when the paper web’s movement becomes unstable.
Guiding Roll Core Functions
Guiding and Tensioning
Guide rolls serve two primary functions. Active (driven) guide rolls are rotated by a drive mechanism, providing forward guidance to the wire and felt. Passive (idler) guide rolls are positioned along the path of the fabric or felt; they rotate as the wire and felt moves over them, serving to support the material and regulate its tension. In a papermaking machine, the essential task of a guide roll is to ensure that the forming fabric—or wire—consistently follows the correct path.
