Light Impurity Separator For Waste Paper Pulp

The light impurity separator is a piece of equipment designed specifically for handling tailings within the coarse screening system of a waste-paper pulping process. Its function is not to purify the accept pulp in the main process flow, but rather to recover usable fibers from tailings—which have a high consistency of impurities—while simultaneously separating and discharging both light and heavy contaminants from the system.
Light Impurity Separator Workflow
Vortex Formation: The pulp enters the inverted conical housing tangentially, and a high-speed rotating rotor at the bottom generates a vortex.
Light Impurity Flotation: Light impurities migrate toward the low-pressure zone at the center and are discharged via an overflow at the top.
Heavy Impurity Sedimentation: Heavy impurities are forced toward the outermost periphery by centrifugal force, settle into a collection groove, and are subsequently discharged through a heavy-rejects outlet.
Fiber Screening: Acceptable fibers pass through the screen plate to become accepted pulp, which is then discharged through the outlet pipe.
